The Paran mountain range is the lower extension of the Areish Mountains. They sweep eastward from the Areish, cupping the Shaahri Desert to the north of them. Not as tall as the Areish range, they are just as deadly. Many travellers have lost their lives attempting to cross their peaks. The Taekyon Monastery is located within this range, as well as a small underground tribe of hunter-gatherers led by Gen, their chieftain.
