The Protectorate Camp is one of the nine newbie areas in Imperian. Like all newbie areas, this valley encampment is a place for newbies in Imperian to get to know the world in relative safety.
Dominated by the Protectorate of the Seven Suns, this area offers newbies a limited selection of hunting and a few quests. This area is mostly suited for Stavennite newbies.
Geography
Situated in a valley amidst the Ravana Hills, the Protectorate of the Seven Suns lies dangerously close to the Empire of Stavenn and its neighbouring villages.
The south of the valley is dominated by a lone cave, numerous corpses and the decay of death preventing most from entering its dark confines. Taking up most of the valley proper is the encampment of volunteer youths from Antioch, led by the Vhan brothers in the pursuit of honouring the God Baar and fighting against the Stavennite Empire. The encampment's defenses are minimal, a ramshackle wooden palisade offering its only resistance against enemy attack.
In the middle of the encampment lies a massive keep, housing storage chambers, feasting halls and the Vhan brother's private apartments.
Culture
The Protectorate of the Seven Suns is heavily devout with all members worshiping the God of the Seven Suns, Baar. Leading the numerous youths recruited from Antioch and its surrounding townes are the Vhan brothers, Delreth and Vheissu. It is common knowledge that the brothers require all followers to give up their worldly possessions before joining, keeping the coin made from selling such possessions for themselves. The zealous followers are supported and guided by Michelina Thunderclaw.
The zealots within the Camp are known for their torture of users of necromancy, a dedicated executioner hired for putting those unfortunate enough to survive torture out of their misery.
To the south of the camp sulks Sir Taurka, a Diavlous of Stavenn. He has sworn vengeance on the Protectorate for past crimes against his kin and constantly seeks adventurers willing to bring unholy justice to the zealots.
Inhabitants
The Protectorate of the Seven Sun holds many young zealots within its ramshackle walls. The zealots are composed of many races, from Akrabi to Norrjin. All share the common trait of being young.
Denizens of note within the area include:
- Sir Taurka, Diavlous Avenger
- Anwar the summoner
- Michelina Thunderclaw
- A masked executioner
- Delreth Aran
- Vheissu Aran
Notable Locations
- The cave south of the camp, housing Sir Taurka
- The statues of Baar located in the northwest corner of the camp
- The gaols located near the statues of Baar
- The Keep of the camp
Flora and Fauna
Flora within the Camp is limited, given the extensive clearing of trees and other plants in favour of the stone keep and the camp itself. Animals similarly have a limited presence, with the exception of the odd small, brown rabbit.
