Ik'taru was an early human responsible for leading his people to the valley that would later be the home of the city of Caanae. His only known relative is an aunt, Sk'karu.

History

Years after the Great Flood destroyed the lands, Ik'taru, a young man in one of the nomadic tribes that struggled to survive in the far south of Aetherius, received a message from Avasyu. A lion, gaunt and decrepit in its old age, appeared before him. When Ik'taru considered killing the lion, it sprang to its feet and stood upright before him. The lion spoke to Ik'taru, scolding him for descending to the level in which he would consider killing a diseased and disabled creature for food. When Ik'taru explained that his tribe needed to do whatever it could to survive, the lion began to transform into a much more imposing figure, shrouded in mist. The figure revealed himself to be Avasyu, Creator of All and Lord of Creation. Avasyu then offered to show Ik'taru a special place, and it was then that Ik'taru passed out.

Unconscious, Ik'taru's vision returned and he felt as if he were flying above the ground. Avasyu appeared beside him and they flew over the lands of Aetherius, passing hunting grounds, hills, valleys, mountains, forests, and so much more. When they came to one valley in particular, a wide river flowing through the middle of it, the two stopped and watched as ethereal figures appeared below them. They watched as time lapsed quickly, the figures working the lands, building structures, and fishing from the river. Avasyu then commanded Ik'taru to return to his people and to convince them that they needed to make the long journey north to this valley and do the things necessary for survival that he had seen in his vision.

"This land is many days north of your lands, I know. But it is the land of your future, should you wish for your tribe to survive. Lead them here and you will be remembered forever in the annals of civilization... This is your future, should you come here... The decision seems easy but it may take effort to convince those of your tribe to make the trek considering they have not seen what you have seen. It is up to you to convince them, to teach them and to lead them. Good luck."
