Illuminas

From a scroll describing the realm of Illuminas, the Lightbringer, the Pure One, the God of Light:

Sustainer of Hope, spirit of Purity. The sheer embodiment of determination, Illuminas guides those who forever move closer to the Light. His followers have spread their beliefs across the realm for centuries, though this spread is tied not only to word-of-mouth, but death to those who would scoff at the gifts He offers. Those who follow the Light do not concern themselves with saving the cowards who have lost themselves in madness and magick, and care only for what may improve themselves and their service to their Lord.

To look upon Illuminas is a dangerous endeavor, as those tainted by impurity will find themselves blinded by the brilliance of His form. On the other hand, those found worthy to look upon Him are greeted by a visage that can only be described as sacred. Few indeed are given the rare opportunity to discover which category they fall into.

Patroning only a select few, Illuminas is not known to take into His followers all who would seek Him out. Intricate knowledge of the path towards the Light, and an unwavering Purity are paramount for those who wish to serve Him. Foolish is the man who lies with a magicker while attempting to call out the name of the God of Light. Only those who are willing to accept the full burden of their lives upon themselves may be taken in to learn of His ways, as to rely on the Purity of others to find one's inner Light is a weakness as great as magick.

The Priests of Light are no pacifists, and find no objections in cutting down the tainted foes who would stand against their dedication to the Light. The majestic form of a white hawk in silent flight marks His followers, at once calculating, cunning, and deadly.

History

The Cult of Illuminas began in the First Age, shortly after the birth of Caanae. In the year 400 AH, Avya and Yaksha both had prophetic dreams and when they awoke, were led to create the Cults of Illuminas and Shallah, respectively. Avya became the first Prophetess of Light.

In the year 678 AD, during the war against the Demon Gods, Illuminas came to the aid of Baar alongside Vahin, trying to repel the attacks of Azaoz, who was flanked by Erzabet and Aosoth. When His brothers were critically wounded, Illuminas retreated and was called a traitor just before Baar's execution at the hands of the Demon Lord.

Later that year, Azaoz and Ipstal battled Illuminas in the skies over Antioch. When it seemed as if He was going to die, Shallah intervened and was killed instead. Her sacrifice allowed Illuminas to gather His strength in one final assault, which obliterated Himself and killed Ipstal, the Ice Maiden, the third Demonic casualty since the start of the conflict.
