Mylani Village

Demonic Circle
Sovereignty: Khandava
Hawkmaster: Myrcella
Birdtamers: Caitryn

Decades ago, when the Sylayan of the Lalwan Eryn explored the forest of Khandava, some chose to remain. While their roots began within the Arboreals, the people of Mylani found their life more suited to that of a hunter and over time became more attuned to the fauna of the Wilds. During the demon incursions, they decided they had no need of the troubles of the world and called upon the very Wilds to seal them within their home. Any efforts to enter the village were met with the force of the Wilds, the trees literally closing around it.

Mylani has become a self-sustaining village and is a lesson in living off the lands. Its inhabitants have retained much of their own style of living, even in the face of the modern age, and offer anyone the generosity and comforts of their enchanted home.

History

On Fas 465 AD, Kanthari Lynne was alerted to blood in the Khandava Forest and was greeted by Aegnor Inglorion, a village hunter. He explained that his village, once hidden by great magick, had decided to reveal themselves to the outside world.

In line with the re-opening of Mylani, Aegnor also relayed the desire of the sylayan inhabitants to expand their library and their knowledge of the world. Submissions ranging from academic studies to literary works poured in, fulfilling the wishes of the sylayan.

When the Leechtree rose in Khandava, the deeply forestal community of Mylani grew concerned. Aegnor went into the council proper to speak with the Prophetess of the time, Aleutia Sol'Anlumaire, and relay his denial of displeasure at the changes Khandava was experiencing. He was met with mockery and derision, and the gathered Khandavans offered him up to the jackal pack that had gathered. Nyrohi, the Undying then turned his corpse into the first sirenflower ghoul.

Landmarks

Found inside a massive hollowed redwood, the Redwood Staples Shop sells the towne's produced resources of crops and livestock. Above it, the Sylayan Emporium sells inks and some woodland edibles. A rumour mill and a delivery service within the redwood also serves as the towne's news board and post office, respectively. At the very heart of the redwood, however, is a tribunal hunting lodge housing a collection of books and other writings.

Heartstrings, the sole privately-owned shop in the towne, can be found just south of the aforementioned redwood. On the western side of town, Elarad stands before two sentinel totems, elaborately carved yet somehow exuding life.

Flora and Fauna

The indicative redwoods of Khandava continue to be widespread in Mylani. Woodland creatures, such as long-tailed wood mice and wild rabbits, frolic across the towne. One-eyed pheasants peck earthworms out of the earthen paths, while red frogs inhabit the pond on the northeastern side of towne. A snowy white owl also calls Mylani home, while a tamed eagle accompanies Elarad.

On the northern edge of the towne is an orchard of pomegranate and mango trees. Busy little bumblebees flit across the village as a result of the abundant flora. A resplendent palomino filly can even be found wandering around. Within the central redwood, an ethereal mist spider makes its home in a small dugout.
