Anathema
From a scroll describing the realm of Anathema, the Griever and Goddess of Putrefaction:
Wherever there exists something to fall into disrepair, the presence of Anathema can be felt. She is the rot which rocks the foundations of buildings until they fall, She is the decay which destroys minds, She is the plague which wipes out a generation. Such things have existed since the dawn of time, and will continue to do so as long as the world progresses.
Her intentions are as vague as the targets of Her influence, but it is whispered that Her purpose is to further the degeneration of Aetheriankind. Her followers are said to walk within the grace of Her shield and work as agents to further Her influence within the realms. Seekers of Her Order must understand that all things eventually fall, and thus understand the intricacies of its ruin. Despite this, one would be mistaken to assume they are all fervent seekers of death and decay but rather intense manipulators that understand the underlying weaknesses and use them to their advantage.
It is said that Her hands are always covered with a pair of metal gloves, to sheath the diseased touch of Her hands that would otherwise prove disastrous to those She encounters. The symbol of Anathema is portrayed as a crumbling tower surrounded by a grey and creeping mist, with a serpent constricted around it.
