The Areish Mountains are located on the west side of Aetherius. They run southward for a great distance, and then turn west, running until it hits the ocean. The Areish are an extremely treacherous place, by virtue of the aggressive animals and people that inhabit it. Many a person has fallen victim to the mountain lions that roam it seeking their dinners. Perhaps the most striking feature of the vast Areish are the Pillars of Heaven. This collection of mountain peaks in the western-central portion of the Areish rises as much as fifty percent higher than any peak outside of them. In the shadow of the mountains to the southeast is Yhumara Lake, and found within the mountain rage is Gadan Hold, a colony of xiur under the control of Khandava.

The mountains are the current home of the altar of the Sect of Conquest.

Notable Denizens

  • Urlin, a bearded Norrjin - The large, burly Norrjin stands about eight feet tall. His partially bared chest and arms reveal taut skin that accentuates the bulk of muscle that ripples and bulges, his veins corded and thick. His blond hair is long and unkept, though an attempt to some order has been made as much of it is has been hastily tied back with a narrow strip of leather. Despite this effort, several strands stand on end in chaotic waves. Grey eyes, the colour of ice, reflect from beneath thick, bushy eyebrows that is only matched by the long, braided beard that begins as a wild and woolly mustache that completely conceals his lips. The beard is long, reaching below his waist and the braids have been woven with various bone beads in muted shades. He wears fringed leather boots that end just below the knee, a pair of buckskin pants that are tucked into his boots. A matching buckskin vest does little to conceal the bulk of his form, and a tattoo of some animal is tattooed on his chest.

Quests and Activities

  • Hunting in the Areish - Urlin will pay for the corpses of dhall, bighorns, and cougars.
