As the backbone of the Defiler profession , the Desecration skill combines the brutality of nature with the darkness of the demonic arts. Through Desecration, you will be able to corrupt mighty trees, or plant your own, to later be used for your devices. With the use of twisted spores, tainted with powers that you find useful, you will be able to summon and imbue a treant to do your bidding.

You will also find yourself as one with the twisted side of nature, switching your own heart with your treant to prolong life, and perhaps prevent death. These allies will risk their trunks for you, going as far as planting their twisted spores into the very body of your enemy and wearing their corpse as armour.

INFEST TREE
INFEST TREE WITH <seed>
The first step in summoning a tainted treant is to plant an infested tree, or to corrupt an existing one.

If you want to plant an infested tree, you need to obtain a seed of the correct type from the tutor of a guild specialising in the Defiler profession, or the Druid profession. Then, you need to go to a tree room within the guild and PLANT the seed. After several Imperian months, a sapling will grow, which you can obtain using the TRANSPLANT command and plant at a desired location using the PLANT command.

A sapling will then grow into an infested tree. Only one tree can grow in a room which must not have been imprinted as a Grove.

The SEEDS command allows you to see which seeds and saplings you have growing in a tree room. You can only plant trees of types known to you, determined by the ability to summon a treant of that type.

A second way to obtain an infested tree is to seek out a Naturalism tree planted by a Druid and INFEST TREE. The seed is the same that is used to grow a tree, and it needs to be of the same type as the tree that you are trying to infest. If you wish to specify which seed in your inventory to use, you may do so.

The process of infestation takes several hours, during which any Druid may stop the infestation by rousing the tree's effect.

The only way to remove an infested tree is to fell it.
