He is also the patron of the arts, having a deep love of music and poetry, study and performance, appreciating both the subtle song of the land itself, using a part of it to further the turn of the wheel. Often, music from unseen sources will hint at His presence, hinting at perfect, harmonious melody, unheard by mortal ears. He also has a fondness for amethysts, and rumour has it that He favours the colour of violet, often framed by violet fire or light, which reflect His ageless, deep purple eyes, which His followers take comfort in the fact that they are always close, watching and caring for His chosen Walkers.

History
Janus and Cassiopeia attempted to save Zanik from death at the hands of the Demon Lord Visyra in the year 678 AD, but the God of Civilization was fatally founded and became the fourth Immortal to die. Later that year, Nytid and Aosoth appeared at the gates of Antioch, taunting the citizens and drawing the attention of Janus. The Demon Lords summoned a dark mass of energy and launched it towards the city of Antioch, but Janus called upon the powers of Spring and summoned a flock of zephyrs that blocked the attack. The Demon Lords retreated and headed towards Kinsarmar, meeting up with Azaoz, the Lord of Demons, at Janus' temple. The Demon Lords tried once again to summon a mass of powerful energy, this time aided in the effort by Azaoz. Janus used all of His strength and power to shield Kinsarmar from this attack, which left Him extremely weakened and sent the Wheel of the Year spinning wildly out of control. Each season passed one after another at a dizzying speed, threatening the entire realm. To restore balance, Janus chose to make the ultimate sacrifice and willed Himself into Eternal Winter; another God was dead.
