A group of humans who managed to escape from the Horde's attack on Caanae in the year 100 AA ventured north into the arctic wastelands. Hundreds perished in that first winter, and when spring broke, a man by the name of [[Eldgrim Flatnefr]] seized leadership. Though strict and unforgiving, he led the group to construct small villages, build defenses against the Horde or other threats, and to hunt the wildlife of the region more efficiently.
