The Tanari are the direct descendants of the ancient Cannanites. They are the most numerous of the three human sub-races, and they can be found in nearly every corner of Imperian. The tanari race has been known to dabble in every aspect of culture, from the devout orders of the Divine to the perverse underworld of demonic magick.

The tanari were able to retain so many of the characteristics of early humans because of a movement to preserve the human race, led by a man named Jericho Geiger of Stavenn. He argued that the moons and magick were responsible for tainting and corrupting the "perfect" race, and those who supported him believed strongly in keeping their bloodline pure and free of any outside influences.
