Calix

From a scroll describing the realm of Calix, the Vagrant Lord:

Little is written of the Deity known as Calix, an enigma in the very quintessence of the word. Ageless beyond recollection of mortal minds, He holds dominion over no obvious realm of existence by choice, having little interest in limiting Himself with such trappings of Divinity. The few remaining folk tales which catch in mortal ears are nothing if unproven rumors passed on through the generations, varying drastically in their recollection; some speak of a benevolent shade, aiding those as He deems fit, others a cold and oppressive being of unbridled cruelty. Regardless, each story ultimately corresponds on one point, describing Him as possessed of a reclusive nature - some even whisper of Him as an outcast from the Garden's great Pantheon, His machinations and influences exclusively private and understood only within His unreadable mind.

In response to such stories, many refer to Him as the God of Rogues, a not altogether unbefitting title; indeed, those who choose to follow in His service are quite often of a self-sufficient disposition. Wanderers, thieves, explorers and entrepreneurs alike claim Calix as their patron, both as capable, enlightened individuals and an esoteric collective bound by loyalty to the Vagrant Lord.

History

Calix's first appearance in the war between the Demon Gods and the Pantheon of Imperian was in the battle in the Celidon Forest, when Asaka was killed by Azaoz and the alliance between Epiphany, Cassiopeia, Vahin, and the fallen Goddess of the Wild fought with the surviving Demons. Possessing some kind of Divine foresight, Vahin and Calix prepared a trap for Aosoth and Azaoz, summoning a parliament of ravens at a crucial point in the battle to allow the Vagrant Lord to sneak into the area and attack Erzabet and the other Demons with toxins.

The toxin was not strong enough to kill any of them in such a small dose, so Calix was forced to administer all that remained in a brutal attack on the Beloved Child of Azaoz, sealing her fate. This prompted Azaoz to mercilessly kill Calix, whose corpse was consumed immediately by His familiar - Corpse Eater, the white raven.
