These are all the abilities in the skill of Hunting.

Hide

  HIDE
  EMERGE

Conceal yourself from view.

Swinging

  SWING UP
  SWING DOWN

When in a location with trees (such as a forest, or a jungle, or many gardens), you may swing up into the branches.

Traps

  TRAPS
  TRAPS ALL

This ability will search for traps in the room, giving you information about them. You will not be able to find traps laid by someone with higher skill than you.

Dart

  LAY DART <direction>
  ENVENOM DART <direction> WITH <venom>

Commodities: 1 wood

The dart trap shoots out a dart when sprung. It does no damage, but may be envenomed from vials with venom in them, in which case the dart will poison the victim with whatever venom was applied to the trap. With great skill you will be able to set up the traps so that they will only be set off by your enemies.

Affinity

 CREATE AFFINITY

Your commitment to Nature has reached a point that allows you to develop a particularly strong affinity to one of ten environment types found in the wilds of Aetherius. When bound with this environment, you may call upon the aid of creatures unique to the region, and eventually learn to invoke the wrath of the wilds. To use this skill, you must be located in the environment and use the above-listed syntax.

  • Mountains - Encompassing Mountains, Hills, and Crags environments.

Fox

  SUMMON FOX

With this ability you may call a sly and cunning vixen to attack your enemies. HELP MOBILES will show you what commands you can use with it.

Coyote

 SUMMON COYOTE

With this ability you may call a coyote to attack your enemies. HELP MOBILES will show you what commands you can use with it.

Ocelot

 SUMMON OCELOT

With this ability you may call an ocelot to attack your enemies. HELP MOBILES will show you what commands you can use with it.

Bite

 SURGE <animal>

Your mastery of animal pheromones will enable you to drive a fox-type animal (fox, lynx, salamander, coyote, ocelot, crab, yak, snow fox, beaver, caracal) into a frenzy. Instead of its next timed attack, the animal will seep poison into its target's veins, slowing his or her salve absorption.

This ability consumes equilibrium and does not require balance, making it combo-able with other attacks. The hormonal surge will end with the animal's first attack or after 15 seconds.

Snare

  LAY SNARE <direction>

Commodities: 1 rope

This trap will snare an opponent like a hare heading for the cooking pot. It will only fire if you are in the same or adjacent room as the target.

Mask

 MASK ANIMALS
 UNMASK ANIMALS

You can order all your loyal animals in the room to conceal themselves and become difficult to detect.

Lemming

 SUMMON LEMMING

Though tiny, the lemming can be a powerful weapon, as it strips the defences of its victim by running speedily about him.

Tamarin

 SUMMON TAMARIN

The tamarin can be a powerful weapon, as it strips the defences of its victim by running speedily about him.

Returning

  THROW AXE AT <thing>
  THROW AXE <direction> AT <person>

This ability will allow your axe to return to your hand when thrown.

Firstaid

  FIRSTAID ON/OFF

Anyone who spends time in the wilderness understands the value of a basic knowledge of first aid. Using this technique, you will cause your wounds to clot more quickly, though it does drain mana while you have it active.

Disarm

  DISARM TRAP <direction>

Using this ability, you will attempt to disarm a trap. If you are successful, and you laid the trap, you will get the commodities that went into its making. If you are unsuccessful, you will fall victim to the trap.

Strip

 SURGE <animal>

Your mastery of animal pheromones will enable you to drive a lemming-type animal (lemming, hare, raccoon, ferret, tamarin, heron, chinchilla, ermine, duck, vulture) into a frenzy. Instead of its next timed attack, the animal randomly strip one of its target's defences.

This ability consumes equilibrium and does not require balance, making it combo-able with other attacks. The hormonal surge will end with the animal's first special attack or after 15 seconds.

Noose

  LAY NOOSE <direction>

Commodities: 2 rope

This is the snare trap's more powerful cousin. It snares someone, but it proceeds to strangle that person until he or she writhes out of the trap. It will only fire if you are in the same or adjacent room as the target.

Bowmanship

 SHOOT <player> <direction>

Use one of the various bows to shoot a player in a line-of-sight location from you.

Raven

 SUMMON RAVEN

The raven will harry its victim, throwing him off balance occasionally.

Hawk

 SUMMON HAWK

The hawk will harry its victim, throwing him off balance occasionally.

Wind

Once you have this ability, your accuracy with bowmanship will be increased.

Disrupt

 SURGE <animal>

Your mastery of animal pheromones will enable you to drive a raven-type animal (raven, crow, cave bat, hawk, bat, turtle, owl, snow owl, mosquitoes, armadillo) into a frenzy. Instead of its next timed attack, the animal will disrupt the equilibrium of its target.

This ability consumes equilibrium and does not require balance, making it combo-able with other attacks. The hormonal surge will end with the animal's first special attack or after 15 seconds.

Catapult

  LAY CATAPULT <direction> <direction to throw person>

Commodities: 1 rope, 1 wood

The catapult trap is laid in a direction like all traps, but is also set to throw its victim in a particular direction.

So, for instance, say you are in a room with north and west exits. You might do: LAY CATAPULT NORTH WEST. Then, when one of your enemies either tries to leave the room going north, or tries to enter the room from the north, he will be thrown west and thrown off-balance momentarily.

Aiming

 AIM <player> <direction>

Increase the accuracy of your shooting.

Campfire

  BUILD CAMPFIRE
  STOKE CAMPFIRE

Commodities: 3 wood to build, 1 wood to stoke

When you build a campfire, those in the room with it will regenerate health and mana periodically. When the fire starts to burn out, you may stoke it to keep it going.

Badger

 SUMMON BADGER

The grumpy badger is a fearsome foe and is able to rip into opponents with its claws, causing great amounts of bleeding.

Antelope

 SUMMON ANTELOPE

The antelope is a fearsome foe and is able to piece into opponents with its horns, causing great amounts of bleeding.

Anteater

 SUMMON ANTEATER

The anteater is a fearsome foe and is able to rip into opponents with its claws, causing great amounts of bleeding.

Clothesline

  LAY CLOTHESLINE <direction>

Commodities: 1 rope

This trap will cut the jugular of any enemy of yours that tries to pass by it, causing great bleeding.

Alarm

  SET ALARM <direction>

Set an alarm on a trap such that the trap owner will be notified when the trap is sprung.

Smash

 SURGE <animal>

Your mastery of animal pheromones will enable you to drive a badger-type animal (badger, wolverine, beetle, antelope, anteater, iguana, porcupine, bear, crocodile, lizard) into a frenzy. Instead of its next timed attack, the animal will smash its target's legs, breaking both legs.

This ability consumes equilibrium and does not require balance, making it combo-able with other attacks. The hormonal surge will end with the animal's first special attack or after 15 seconds.

Grab

  BTHROW AXE AT <player> <direction>
  BTHROW AXE AT <player> SKIES

This ability will allow you to bring someone in another room to you by throwing your axe at them. It may also be used to yank a flying target down from the skies.

Axetoss

 AXETOSS <axe> AT <target> <delay> [toxin]

Hurl a throwing axe into the air, timing it carefully to fall from the sky after a precise delay and dealing the provided toxin, if any. The delay must be between 4 and 12 seconds. If your target is out of the room when the axe returns, it will simply swoop back into your hands.

Dustbomb

  LAY DUSTBOMB <direction>

Commodities: 1 rope, 1 diamond dust

When sprung, the dustbomb will numb a person's senses, cutting off much sensory input for a time.

Butterfly

 SUMMON BUTTERFLY

Though small and seemingly harmless, the butterfly is a powerful ally in combat, transfixing, causing stupidity, and causing dizziness.

Sparrow

 SUMMON SPARROW

The sparrow is a powerful ally in combat, transfixing, causing stupidity, and causing dizziness.

Eagle

 SUMMON EAGLE

The eagle is a powerful ally in combat, transfixing, causing stupidity, and causing dizziness.

Horseshoe

  LAY HORSESHOE <direction>

Commodities: 1 rope, 1 iron

This trap drops a horseshoe on top of its victim's head, stunning him for a time. It will only fire if you are in the same or adjacent room as the target.

Transfix

 SURGE <animal>

Your mastery of animal pheromones will enable you to drive a butterfly-type animal (butterfly, gyrfalcon, swiftlet, sparrow, eagle, albatross, bluebird, tern, dragonfly, wren) into a frenzy. Instead of its next timed attack, the animal will transfix its target, if he or she is not blinded.

This ability consumes equilibrium and does not require balance, making it combo-able with other attacks. The hormonal surge will end with the animal's first special attack or after 15 seconds.

Thornspray

  INVOKE THORNSPRAY

While in your affinity environment(s), you may fill the air with deadly flying thorns, damaging any enemy of yours in the room.

Ridebyshot

 RIDEBYSHOT <target> <direction>

This ability will allow you to ride in to an adjacent room, shoot your target with a single shot from your bow, and then ride out from that adjacent room in the direction that you specify.

For example, let's say that Dwyn is in a room to the north of me, and that Dwyn's room has another exit to the northeast. I would do RIDEBYSHOT DWYN NE. I would ride in to Dwyn's room, shoot him, and then ride out to the northeast.

Conceal

  CONCEAL TRAP <direction>

This powerful ability will allow you to disguise the effects of a trap from he who sets it off. The victim will know he set off a trap, but will not immediately know what kind of trap was set off.

Wolf

 SUMMON WOLF

The most powerful of the animals that will come to your call, the mighty wolf will attack with its fangs and claws, damaging its victims.

Cheetah

 SUMMON CHEETAH

The most powerful of the animals that will come to your call, the mighty cheetah will attack with its fangs and claws, damaging its victims.

Panther

 SUMMON PANTHER

The most powerful of the animals that will come to your call, the mighty panther will attack with its fangs and claws, damaging its victims.

Lacerate

 SURGE <animal>

Your mastery of animal pheromones will enable you to drive a wolf-type animal (wolf, leopard, cave bear, cheetah, panther, sea lion, lion, arctic wolf, anaconda, hyena) into a frenzy. Instead of its next timed attack, the animal will lacerate the target's flesh, causing heavy bleeding and haemophilia.

This ability consumes equilibrium and does not require balance, making it combo-able with other attacks. The hormonal surge will end with the animal's first special attack or after 15 seconds.

Darts

  LAY DARTS <direction>
  ENVENOM DARTS <direction> WITH <toxin>
  ENVENOM <#> DARTS <direction> WITH <toxin>

Commodities: 1 rope, 1 wood

The darts trap, when sprung, will begin shooting darts (hopefully envenomed by you) at its victim at the rate of one every four seconds. It holds 6 darts and will be destroyed when the last dart is shot.

Evolution

Evolution is a skill that will allow you to expand your affinity into other environments.

Refer to the following list.

  • Forest

  • Dark Forest

  • Natural Underground
  • Mountains
  • Desert
  • Plains

For example, if you have an affinity with the tundra, you will now be able to summon and use thornspray in the environments above and below. In this case, beach and natural underground.
