Taekate Abilities

These are all the abilities in the skill of Taekate.

Horse

 HRS

The most basic fighting stance, the Horse stance is an effective stance for punching.

Jab

 JBP <player>

A quick punch that will damage your opponent slightly if successful. This punch may be used with the TARGET command, to attack any part of the opponent's body.

Snapkick

 SNK <player> left/right

This low, and easy-to-perform kick attacks the legs of an opponent.

Hook

 HKP <player>

The hook punch is a punch aimed at the opponent's torso.

Combo

 COMBO <list of attacks> <target>

This ability allows you execute multiple Taekate attacks at once, within the same command. The attacks will be executed in the specified order against the chosen target, who can be a player or a mobile. Note that some attacks only work on players, not on mobiles.

The list of attacks can optionally include a stance to enter. If the attack can be targetted against a particular location, it needs to be specified immediately after the attack name.

The individual attacks are each still subject to effects such as aeon or stupidity.

Specialise

 SPECIALISE IN KICKBOXING|PUGILISM

While at a training room within the Monastery of Manoa, you may concentrate your studies in Taekate to emphasise your kicks or your punches.

Specialising as a Kickboxer allows you to throw two kicks before you will need to regain balance, but you will not to be able to throw any punches after the second kick.

Specialising as a Pugilist allows you to throw four total punches before you will need to regain balance on your arms. You will not be able to throw any kicks after the third punch.

Breakfall

 BREAKFALL

By preparing the skill of breakfall you will suffer none of the debilitating side effects of falling from heights.

Eagle

 EGS

A more refined stance, geared towards agility and speed.

Sidekick

 SDK <player>

This kick drives your leg straight into an opponent's torso.

Uppercut

 UCP <player>

With the uppercut punch, you will attack your opponent's head.

Bodyblock

 BDB
 BDB OFF

At the cost of a constant mana drain, this block attempts to stop or reduce physical damage aimed at your body.

Palmstrike

 PMP <player>

Using your palm, you will smash your opponent on the bridge of his nose, causing any actions that require balance or equilibrium to require more time. The opponent will recover from the palmstrike after one second.

Hammerfist

 HFP <target> left/right

The hammerfist attack brings your fist down on an opponents leg.

Cat

 CTS

An extremely good defensive stance, though inferior for attack.

Roundhouse

 RHK <player>

This versatile kick may be used to attack any part of the opponent's body, providing you have the TARGET ability in weaponry.

Quickmount

This is a passive skill that allows you to mount with half the normal balance loss.

Evade

 EVB
 EVB OFF

At the cost of a regular mana and willpower drain, this will increase your effective avoidance skill.

Block

 BLOCK <direction>

This will allow you to block much movement in a particular direction.

Sweep

Syntax: SWK <player>

A specialized kick that attempts to sweep the legs out from under your opponent.

Bear

 BRS

A highly specialized stance, designed specifically for lethal punching.

Slam

 SLT <player>

This throw requires a prone target, and it causes heavy damage to his or her head.

Moonkick

 MNK <player> left/right

This kick, so-called because the foot travels in the arc of a crescent moon, attacks the arms of your opponent.

Mountflip

 MTF <stance>

This skill will allow you to instantly dismount into a stance.

Spear

 SPP <player> left/right

This punch is used with a rigid hand. With your knowledge of musculature, you're able to hit just the right spot in the target's arms to damage his arms.

Rat

 RTS

Delivers successful attack and defence, but for reduced damage.

Thrustkick

 THK <player> <direction>
 THK ICEWALL <direction>

Using your great leg power, you will attempt to kick your opponent away in the specified direction. Your legs are also strong enough to shatter an icewall with a single mighty kick.

Knifehand

 KHP <target>

Striking out at your opponent's neck, you may hit his throat and wither it such that he will be unable to speak.

Wrench

 WRT <player> <right/left> <arm/leg>

This throw attacks the target's health and breaks one of his limbs.

Feint

 FEINT <target> <bodypart>

This skill will allow you to feint to a body part on a player with such force, they will shift their parry to that location.

Axe

 AXK <player>

A slow and extremely damaging kick.

Mountkick

 MTK <target> <stance>

Dismount from your horse, kick your foe, and land in the stance of your choice. What skill!

Guarding

 GUARD <head/torso/left arm/right arm/left leg/right leg>

This ability is similar to, but an improvement on, the parrying ability that those with sufficient skill in weaponry can use. It allows you to not only guard a single location on your body against attack, but counter any attacks made to there by automatically throwing your opponent to the ground and stunning him.

Posture

 POSTURE

This skill will allow you to retain your stance while moving from room to room.

Scorpion

 SCS

A devestating stance when used for attack, but it leaves the player very open.

Whirlwind

 WWK <player>

The most impressive of all kicks, this one is essentially two spinning crescent kicks aimed at the head of an unlucky opponent.

Bladehand

 BLP <player>

A quick punch that attempts to disarm an opponent.

Pinch

 PNB
 PNB OFF

A very special block which allows you to hit with a special blow that inflicts damage to the target when they attempt to perform any equilibrium-based action. This effect wears off after two seconds, and the damage is based on target's mana - lower mana means higher damage.

Backbreaker

 BBT <player>

The ultimate throw, this ability does a large amount of damage to people who are sitting/laying on the ground, as well as causes damage to your opponent's back. Should your opponent's back be sufficiently damaged, he/she will be automatically killed.

This ability does decreased damage to people who are on the ground, but are not afflicted with a damaged leg.

Jumpkick

 JPK <player>

With this ability, you are able to demonstrate your ability to combine style and power in a single move, the jump kick. Starting in an adjacent location, you will fly in, slam your outstretched foot into your unlucky victim's body, knocking him to the floor, stunning him, and doing a fair amount of damage.

Dragon

 DRS

More of a state of mind than a stance, it's a powerful one.
