Each God in Imperian has a Divine Order. These orders are composed of those players who wish to formally declare their worship and dedication to a particular God. However, you may not join an Order without a God's permission, for only He or She can grant you entrance. Many players find membership in a God's order to be one of the most important parts of their experience in Imperian. Membership gives one a certain sense of belonging, and a sense of being watched over by a benevolent deity who is sympathetic to your causes, that is often vital to ones success.

Within a Divine Order, there are 10 ranks. Your God will (or will not) promote you within the Order based entirely on His or Her own criteria. It is, further, considered extremely rude to ask for a promotion. The highest two levels of an Order are special in that they entail special responsibilities and special powers. Only one mortal is usually appointed to the highest level at any one time, and this mortal is considered to be the God's personal representative on the mortal plane.
