Sect of the Eternal Flame

From the charter of the Sect of the Eternal Flame:

Of all the Elements, fire is foremost. It lies the closest to the primordial powers at the heart of creation, and the ebb and flow of those powers is reflected in the dance of the flames and the swirling patterns of smoke that rise from it. Through the study of the flame, the Cult seeks to understand, and eventually control, the powers at the heart of creation. The ways in which they do this are myriad. Some choose to gaze exclusively into the flames, giving up their sight in this world for visions of others. Some pore through libraries and labor over calculations, seeking connections between that which we already understand and that which the flames have revealed. And some members choose to seek out those who would work against their goals, consigning them to the flames to ensure that everybody assists in the completion of their task, one way or another.
